Looking for a riding lawnmower that runs and works well. (Mineral Bluff, GA)

I’m on a tight budget and in need of a riding lawnmower for my yard. It’s a 1 1/4 acre lot, and too big to do with a push mower. I like cutting the grass and don’t want to have to pay someone to do it.
My 10-year-old Craftsman lawnmower blew a rod, I think, and the engine is frozen up.
I’d really like to find a replacement engine for my Craftsman Model 917.288517, too, if anyone has a lead on that. (Briggs & Stratton Platinum Series Engine, 540 cc, 21.0 Gross HP, per SAE J1940)
The picture is from the Sears website, but that is the same one I own, just for reference, which has sadly recently died on me.
