We are looking for an assistant woodworker in the Ball Ground, GA (North GA) area. This job is a full time 40 hour/week job starting at $17/hr with plenty of room for growth and 3 immediate opportunities for pay raise based on performance.
During the months of March-June there will be as many as 55 hours available per week that are optional and overtime hours are paid at 1.5x pay. One year minimum experience with tools such as saws, nail guns, drills, routers, and/or sanding equipment is a plus. You must be able to read a tape measure and do basic math like adding fractions or dividing numbers by 2 or 3.
Duties include building product and helping to sand it down so it's finished and polished. You will be assisting in assembling components for the product as well and we will work to train you how to use all sorts of tools. This job is in a large warehouse woodworking setting with work tables, tools, loud noises, dust, etc. You will be standing all day working with your hands, this is not a desk job.
Our pay period is biweekly and you would be a W2/W4 employee. Hours are 7am-4:00 pm Monday-Friday with optional overtime from 4-5:30. An ideal candidate would live in or near the Ball Ground/Canton/Cumming/Jasper area. Prior experience in construction, fabrication, woodworking, or operating tools is a plus. You must have a willingness to learn and a good work ethic and be able to meet production goals after training. Pay and performance go hand in hand. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to work efficiently in a fast paced work environment.
