This is a specialized tool typically used by metal detectorists. It's designed to cut and lift out a very precise plug of turf/grass, then put it right back without any trace. When used correctly, won't result in a patch of dying grass. Other than "dirt fishing", could be used for any number of applications, use your imagination! Maintenance on golf courses, hiding things, placing land mines, you name it... This is the best tool of this kind in the entire world. Absolutely bulletproof, will last a lifetime.

NB: What you see on the blade is not rust, but patina. It will change and evolve as you keep using it. In sandy soils it may even get automagically sanded off, only to come back once you start digging someplace else. You could remove it with some steel wool, but why?
